• Welcome to Tilers Talk Bulletin Board

Hey there, welcome to the new Tilers Talk Bulletin Board. Anybody can post, no need to register (you can if you want to). Manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, tile fixers and potential customers are all welcome to post to the bulletin board.

As well as posting to the bulletin board, you're also welcome to post to our Facebook Group; Tilers Talk on Facebook.

Welcome to Tilers Talk BB (Bulletin Board). Anybody is allowed to post here, registration isn't required to post new threads, but you're welcome to register if you would like to receive notifications about replies etc. Manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, tile fixers and their potential customers are all welcome.

Tilers Talk is not connected to any other forum or group, we have our own Tilers Talk Facebook Group and Tilers Talk business page on Facebook. Just so we're not mixed up with other brands. We welcome members of Tilers Community on FB, Tilers Forums and other places. We're all just tilers after all. Tilers Talk will route out tile-related news and information on all social networks and websites of all the companies we train with, use and buy all the time, to share back with you on our own FB Group and this Bulletin Board here.
How to get a Name (URL / Web Address) for your Facebook Page or Group
Thought I'd show you How to get a Name (URL / Web Address) for your Facebook Page or Group I thought I would show you all how to get a name for your facebook page or group. How to setup a facebook business page with your very own facebook URL. This one is important because it then uses facebook.com/PageNameHere so it's easy to give out and can be included on business cards and things. Firstly the page, go to settings on the page management screen. Then on the settings and privacy page, click PAGE SETUP. Then on the page setup screen click NAME at the top. And if Facebook allows you to change your page URL it will be on the next screen underneath the page name itself.

Tilers Talk BB will share your Facebook content with...
Tilers Talk BB, the new Tilers Bulletin Board, will share the content you post to Facebook. We share it on the Tilers Talk BB Group, and Tilers Talk BB Page, and to TilersTalk.co.uk/bb here. Which then gets shared out to Tilers Forums and the Facebook page for Tilers Forums. So, posting one post on your brand page should reach thousands more views, if not hundreds of thousands of views (over the space of months). Because unlike Facebook, content on a forum doesn't drop off the list forever.

A bit of advice that has massively helped my business over the last 3 years. If you haven't already done it, smash your local Facebook pages with advertising. This period in between Xmas and new year is by far the most successful social media advertising time. Everyone is looking at making changes in the new year and looking for upgrades to their house. Last year I put one post out and managed to secure 11 bathrooms from that alone. Let's smash 2025 💪

Cautious Housing Optimism Set to Drive Construction Industry Growth in 2025
The Construction Products Association's Autumn forecasts, released today, indicate cautious optimism for the construction industry in the year ahead, following an especially challenging 18 months for the two largest sectors: private housing new build and repair, maintenance, and improvement (RM&I). Overall, total construction output is expected to grow by 2.5% in 2025 and 3.8% in 2026, after a 2.9% decline this year. In private housing—the largest construction sector—declining interest and mortgage rates are expected to gradually boost demand across the wider housing market, offering better prospects for housebuilders. The new government has signaled a commitment to increasing housebuilding by proposing significant changes to the...

Tile layout thoughts - Tilers Forums
Tile layout thoughts Hi, First time setting out tiles, so I've drawn out a bit of a plan. I was hoping someone with a bit more experience could share any thoughts. Fairly happy with the horizontal layout. The backdoor has a really thin strip just infront of it, but it's not easy to avoid. I'm wondering whether to put an inset doormat there since I'm putting one by the front door due to low clearance. Tiles are 600mm by 400mm and I'm planning on using 6mm tile spacing. Any thoughts welcome. Thanks Hi, First time setting out tiles, so I've drawn out a bit of a plan. I was hoping someone with a bit more experience could share any thoughts. Discoloured shower room tiles and cracked grout Our house was renovated 5 years ago, builders were pretty shoddy. One of our shower rooms is hardly used but recently in the last 2 weeks we have been using it daily multiple times. I noticed some discoloration on tiles and on closer inspection noticed some hairline cracks in some grout near the bottom. We pulled out the Silicon and theres some mould under it in a few areas. We were told all our wetrooms would be tanked but looking back at our old pictures kinda doubt it was done properly. Pressing on the tiles they dont feel loose. Im just wondering if we can try to just dig one some grout where affected to see if I can dry it out and just reseal everything with grout and Silicon the...
Bottom wall tile advice Hi, Ive had a low shower tray installed, 27mm height & will be tiling using metro tiles that are 100mm. I also plan to use lvt flooring 6mm thickness. Would you start with a full tile around shower tray & have narrow off cuts of tiles at the floor or could you suggest a better option? The subfloor is a mixture of concrete and suspended tongue and groove floorboards and plan to have 10mm porcelain tiles laid on top with either of 2 methods: 1. decoupling membrane and S1 adhesive 2. S2 adhesive only Are the cracks anything to be worried about and which method would be best to tile on top of the floor? Hi all, Was...
