How to reach more people on facebook by changing your linking practices

Have you ever noticed news socials and large social pages and groups post an image with text, then rather than including a link in the original post, they reply first with the link like this.

The reason they do this is so that the algorithm facebook uses for their feeds will reduce the amount of people it reaches naturally if it has a link in the original post.

Why?

Because facebook doesn't want to let users leave facebook. They would much rather show everybody content with hashtags and actual tags (tagging in a page or people) as this increases the reach.

If there is a link in every post, a large percentage of people would leave facebook and that stops people "death scrolling".

So to get around this algorithm post your image, add your text, use 5 or less hash tags (more than 5 can be considered spammy), tag people or brands or pages or groups in it, leave the link out for now.

Post the content.

Then immediately reply with the link.

This has all the same content as the other way around. But it will reach a much larger audience without the need to pay fb ads to get your post reach all of your followers.

Give it a try yourself and let me know what you find a week down the line.
