I wouldn't have cut the tile down the middle that's asking for trouble years down the line.
It'd be better cutting a circle in the same place then get rid of the two parts going around the back of the stack pipe.
Then epoxy grout and grout around the back for food standards level etc.
IMO a tile should never be cut down the middle and placed in as if one tile.
If that is ever needed you'd want a grout joint as it is now two tiles next to each other and doesn't fit the British standards in tiling BS 5385 set by The Tile Association (I think) here in the UK. That stipulated 2mm minimum for walls and 3mm minimum grout joint for floors.
Show us the whole setting out, I bet we tilers could have got around that another way.
